Understanding a Dog's Reproductive System

Male Dog's Reproductive System

From the testes, the sperm travel through a series of tubes known as the vas deferens into the prostate gland, where they are mixed with other fluids to create semen which is then ejected during intercourse.

In female dogs, the reproductive system is more intricate. It entails two ovaries, which hold the eggs. When a dog is in heat, an egg is released from the ovary and travels via the fallopian tube into the uterus. Here, if it chanced upon a sperm, fertilization would occur, resulting in a pregnancy.
